Whilst the children are here they have provided weekly lessons in martial arts including genuine karate gi to wear, games using equipment at the Dojo with a wonderful party. The children have loved the opportunity to run and exercise in a disciplined way. Both Carole and Ciaran have donated an incredible amount of their time, energy, involved their contacts and club for very successful fund raising events.

We couldn't have been made to feel more special during our last visit to The Old Woking Cafe. The lunch they provided was delicious - such a treat!

Surrey Advertizer

Beth Duffell of Surrey Advertizer has continued to support of FOCC (Woking). Beth and Carole Mitchell have worked together to publish several articles promoting and informing Surrey about our work.

Quays Wake and Ski

Jack and Faye welcomed us to their fantastic Lake in Mytchet during the 2017 visit. They very generously provided an amazing day of water activities, including paddle boarding, speed boat ride and a chance for our older children to experience the cable. The weather was beautiful - we couldn't have had a better day! They even named their new speedboat after one of our girls 'Galina'.

St Dunstan's Church Woking

The team at St Dunstan's continue to support FOCC Woking. When we started in Surrey most of our host parents were part of the St Dunstans community, both with St dun stans School and the church. Father Frank was our biggest supporter. Very sadly Father Frank passed away recently - we will miss his enthusiasim and passion for the welfare of our children.

St Dunstans proved to be a constant support. Not only have they provided a base and rooms for us while the children are here, but also many of our original host families worship at Dunstans. Both the English and Italian congregations have been very generous with their donations.

Pyrford School
We were very lucky to have the support and kindness of Kathryn Krynicki and her team at the inception of our new FOCC Woking group. Pyrford School lent us their school mini bus for the duration of our first visit, provided school lunches for our children, allowed us to use their rooms and facilities during the stay, donated uniforms for the children to wear so that they didn’t feel different to the students at the school, and raised £420 from a mufti day. At least 6 of our host families have children at the school. Pyrford School wholly embraced us and made us feel very welcome.

The Church of the Good Shepherd Pyrford
They welcomed us with open arms since we started our new group. We have been lucky enough to have the use of their church rooms. Most importantly we have been included in numerous family services and benefited from prayers for our children and those involved with the charity. The congregation have shown lots of interest in what we do and are keen to be involved, discover more, and continue to help us with their very kind donations.

The Marist School West Byfleet
The Headteacher Neil Lewin and his successor Kate Licence and their teams have welcomed our children several times in to their wonderful school. They have supported us consistently since 2013 by raising funds and appealing for clothes. During our first year they welcomed our children to a book day.  All staff and students were dressed in their PJ’s – we were too! Much to the consternation and amusement of our Belarusian friends! We listened to stories from England and Belarus and then played lovely games in the playground. We are looking forward to continuing to develop our relationship with The Marist.

Lorna Doone Dental Practice
The dentists at Lorna Doone Dental Practice continue to be fantastic supporters for years. They have provided free dental check ups for all our children since 2010.  Our children often have very poor teeth because of their poor and limited diet. Lorna Doone have generously completed any treatment required completely free of charge. They have also demonstrated understanding and gentleness when dealing with our children who often have poor experiences of dental care in the past.

Vision Express Woking
Provided eye tests for all our children last year.  The children were treated with all sorts of treats, balloons, pens, sweets – but also with humour and a good experience. It could have been chaos but proved to be smooth and incredibly efficient. We look forward to returning this year!

Ahmadiyya Muslim Community
This small Muslim community in the heart of Woking have taken us to their hearts. The ladies of the group collected good quality 2nd hand clothes for when our children arrived in UK, provided gifts, medical supplies and seeds for us to take to Belarus. They have welcomed us to their meetings and have taken a great interest in what we do. In 2015 they chose to donate a significant portion of the proceeds of a sponsored walk towards our ever increasing costs. Most importantly we have again benefitted from their prayers.

Guildford High School

GHS, parents and children continue to show their care of our children by not only donating excellent quality ski gear for the very harsh winters in Belarus but also by generous donations and fund raising. The girls always want to find out more and have prepared school assemblies to cascade information about the tragic events at the Chernobyl Power Plant in 1986.

St Teresa’s School Effingham
The girls at St Teresea’s were kind enough to welcome us last year with party food and party games. They very kindly offered a trip to their swimming pool but we couldn’t fit it in this year with such a packed schedule! The girls have listened to several presentations about our charity and kindly donated the proceeds of one of their church services.

St Dunstan's School, Woking

The community at St. Dunstan's school have welcomed our children in for a play and lunch and kindly support our fundraising activities.

Huge Design Ltd, London

Huge Design are a creative design stufio and digital printing company that have kindly being supplying FOCC embossed flags for our use.

Woking First Responders

Woking Frist Responders have kindly given both their time and money to help the children each year.  They have made fantastic donations as well as providing a magnificent First Aid Kit, so vital for our day trips out.  In addition, they have provided great activities for the children while they are over including trips to Bisley Rifle Range complete with a ride on a Fire Engine and exploring an Ambulnace.  Not sure if the adults or children have been more excited!

Valentino School Wear Surrey

The Valentino family have been incredible supporters of FOCC woking for many years. Not only have they hosted Gleb for 5 years and brought him back on private visits they have also hosted Veronika for her first year In Woking. The ONLY reason they can’t continue is because the dates of our programme have changed to June and July – unfortunately this is a key time for the school wear business.  Mario and Marianna and their family have also donated a significant sum annually to contribute to our costs. They have very generously provided t-shirts, caps, rucksacks and coats for our children to wear whilst they are here.  Marianna and Frankie have given up their time to be on our committee – their input has been invaluable. We always look forward to an invite to their fantastic café when the children are here. They have provided delicious lunches for us many times!

St John the Baptist School Woking

SJB have been loyal and generous supporters of ours for many years. . They have welcomed us to their school assemblies and have always been very keen to invite our children to the school for a fun day each year.
